Who We Are:

The Nigerian citizens Association South Africa (NICASA) as the name implies, is the apex umbrella body of all Nigerian citizens living in the Republic of South Africa. This association was born out of a desire to present a common and a united voice for all Nigerians resident in South Africa, irrespective of class or status in the society. The Nigerian Citizens Association is a Non Profit Organisation and a non-religious, tribal or political organization, seeking to promote the interest of all Nigerians irrespective of their religious, tribal or political inclinations. Our common goal is to work towards the benefit of Nigerians, to promote our interest and uphold our unity and peace in South Africa.

In the area of protection of Nigerian lives and properties, we seek to prevent crisis or attacks on our nationals through synergy with the relevant local authorities before they occur or at least prevent such occurrence through improve relation with the security agencies and the host communities.

Nigerian Citizens Association seeks to work in improving our badly damaged image through a concerted image laundry project hence becomes the apex body with apex power and authority to represent, act and speak for and on behalf of, the entire Nigerian people and community living in South Africa on matters affecting them and their collective interest(s) in South Africa and beyond.

With recognition to the large numbers of Nigerian professionals, hard working & industrious business moguls, the academia and up coming heavy career students who contribute in no small measure to the economic growth of South Africa. The South Africa media had grossly misrepresented matters that concerned Nigerians thereby feeding hate and ignorance to their gullibles. NICASA will not allow such anti Nigerian tendencies to continue, we have begin to change the narratives through our hard work and image laundry . We cannot allow few cases of some criminal elements among us to tarnish the image and dignity of the legitimate Nigerians.

It is of NICASA’s mandate to push for better understanding and unity within our different organizations and build cohesion that will strengthen us and promote mutual relation and peaceful coexistence. This will surely help in settling disputes among brothers, thereby reducing the bitterness that had led to so much death and hostility within our communities.

Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa was established in 2019 as an entity of necessity sequel to thorns of ugly events that besieged the Nigerian community in this part of the world.

The arrival of NICASA has not only brought hope to members of our communities, but has also revived our national interests and has given Nigerian Nationals reasons to smile again.
